The Bike and Pedestrian Master plan is now out for bid, with a bigger budget than expected. This is exciting news! But this is also the beginning of a long process. Next up, the Mayor and Commission will select a consultant, with the advice of the Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan Citizens Advisory Committee. UPDATE: ACC Transportation & Public Works has recommended Toole Design Group. The Mayor and Commission should officially hire the consultants in March 2017. The next opportunities for public comment will be the Feb. 21 Mayor and Commission Agenda Setting Meeting and the March 7 Mayor and Commission Regular Voting Meeting, both at 6:00pm @ City Hall.  The hiring will formally start the planning process. Plan development will take up to 18 months, and it will require a lot of public input! BikeAthens is represented on the Citizens Advisory Committee (which meets the 1st Monday every month @ 6:00pm @ 120 Daugherty St.). All meetings are open to the public. We highly recommend anyone interested in the bike plan attend these meetings!
