UGA seeks your suggestions for additional sheltered bike racks.

UGA's Facilities Planning Office is actively updating a survey of bicycle racks on campus. This will complete the detailed surveying of bike racks that began in 2004 with the help of several BikeAthens volunteers.

The Planning Office would like to hear suggestions from cyclists indicating existing covered areas on campus where new racks could be installed. For example, an overhang, or extension of a stairway, a corner of a parking deck, all may be places where currently unused space could accomodate a rack.

Please email your suggestions, describing as specifically as possible the location (i.e. name of building or facility, which floor, which side or level of building, etc) to Lisa Jackson at lmjack@uga.edu

Keep in mind they're looking for locations that are covered with a roof or overhang already; they're not looking to build a covered space for the rack. An updated map of campus bike parking locations will be made available when the latest round of surveying is completed within the next few weeks.
