BikeAthens Silent Auction includes a Set of Classic Raleigh Bicycles
Proceeds from the BikeAthens Silent Auction, December 4th to December 11th, at Jitter Joe’s Roaster (780 E Broad St ), will go to their programs such as Bikes for Kids at Christmas, Safe Routes to School, Bike Rodeo; a bike safety program, and recycled bikes for those who need transportation to work
Featured at the auction are two beautifully refurbished, classic Nottingham, England-made Raleigh Sports bicycles and bike accessories. The men’s dark green 55cm. frame was built 1974, and the woman’s grey 53cm. frame was built in 1973. Other features include: Sturmy Archer 3-speed; Internally geared hubs; Brooks B-67 leather saddles; original fenders; and leather saddle bags.

They were generously donated by Prof. Wyatt Anderson, former dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at UGA, a member of the National Academy of Science, the UGA Genetics Department, and BikeAthens. Also in the auction are two exceptional assessories; a bicycle trainer and a trunk-mount bicycle carrier.
To view and bid, visit the Jittery Joe’s Roaster (780 E Broad St just east of Thomas St on the way to Weaver D’s) between 6am and 6 pm this week, December 4th-11th. You may enter as many bids as you like up until the closing party on Monday, December 11th, 6-9pm. Join us for free coffee and old time string music by Joe Willey and the Transfatty playboys. We will announce the winners at 7:30pm.
